We are honored to share that Bill Carter has once again been named to the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list for 2026.
While accolades such as this are certainly appreciated, Bill would be the first to say that the true reward has never been the recognition itself. Rather, it has been the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, earn the trust of clients and their families, and help guide them through life’s most important financial decisions.
For more than five decades, Bill has dedicated his career to serving others with integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to doing what is right for his clients. Along the way, he has witnessed changing markets, evolving technologies, and multiple generations of families pursuing their financial goals. Through it all, the foundation of his work has remained unchanged: putting people first.
As Bill transitions into a new chapter—remaining actively involved with Carter Financial Management while stepping back from the day-to-day responsibilities of serving clients—this recognition serves as a meaningful reflection on a career devoted to service and stewardship.
Bill is deeply grateful for the clients who entrusted him with their financial lives, the colleagues who walked alongside him throughout the years, and the many friendships formed along the way. Their confidence, loyalty, and support have made a lasting impact on both his professional journey and his life.
Although leadership of the organization is now in the capable hands of the next generation, Bill’s passion for financial planning and his commitment to the people of Carter Financial Management remain as strong as ever. He continues to serve as a mentor, advisor, and ambassador for the values that have guided the organization since its founding.
Please join us in congratulating Bill on this recognition and in celebrating the remarkable career, relationships, and legacy it represents.
The Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors 2026 ranking, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data.
This ranking is based upon the period from 6/30/2024 to 6/30/2025 and was released on 4/7/2026. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data.
Out of approximately 52,043 nominations, roughly 11,302 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Compensation provided for using the rating.
